We interviewed Burrow’s CEO on its first-ever queen-sized sleeper sofa

At the New York Post, we report on all the best products, services and sales that are worth your time and money. One item in particular we’re seeing purchased en masse? The trusty sleeper sofa.

Whether you’re furnishing a small, apartment-sized space or simply want to accommodate more overnight guests, these two-in-one furniture pieces are seriously all that (in short, they’re the lovechild of your best mattress and sectional sofa).

Enter Burrow’s new Shift Sleeper Sofa. It launched on June 13 and, impressively, is the brand’s first-ever queen-sized sleeper sofa. It was consciously designed to help solve typical pain associated with the bulky, stiff and somewhat uncomfortable design of current pull-out couches you may see on the market.

“Convenience, flexibility and comfort are top-of-mind for today’s furniture shoppers, and Shift was designed to champion all of these values,” Stephen Kuhl, CEO and co-founder of Burrow, exclusively told the New York Post. “It conveniently unfolds into a queen-sized bed in seconds after a slight pull on the integrated handles, featuring a layered memory foam interior and soft fabric. Especially for those who don’t have a dedicated guest room, Shift transforms back into an equally comfortable sofa to save space in a home office, gym or den.”

The Burrow Shift Sleeper Sofa is available in two colors — navy blue and stone gray — and clad with the brand’s adoring scratch- and stain-resistant fabric. For seamless delivery, it ships in three easy-to-move boxes and can be assembled without additional tools, as is the case with all of Burrow’s products.

“With design and functionality at the forefront, the Shift Sleeper Sofa is perfect for apartment dwellers and homeowners alike and guarantees a great night’s sleep with its memory foam surface that’s quilted to have the plush look and high-quality feel of an actual bed,” Kuhl describes. “As an added bonus, Shift’s arm cushion inserts double as standard-sized pillows, so all consumers have to do is swap the fabric covers to their favorite pillowcases and add a queen sheet set and duvet.”

Plus, the most spectacular feature of this new launch — its larger-than-average sleeping size — is something that’s difficult to come by, especially if you’re seeking quality.

“A true queen-sized sleeper sofa is hard to find anywhere else on the market, especially how we’ve designed it.” Kuhl notes. “Burrow’s Shift Sleeper Sofa is a real queen-sized bed, making it easy to accommodate two grown adults comfortably for everything from overnight visits to extended stays.”

For context, the sleep surface is the same size as a genuine queen mattress, unfolds via an integrated handle within seconds and boasts a layered memory foam interior with delicate, soft-to-the-touch fabric, so all your guests (“even your critical mother-in-law” — as the brand says), will enjoy a good night’s rest.

What’s more, Burrow is one of the top-rated direct-to-consumer furniture companies we recommend, much ado to its beginner-proof ease of ordering, assembling and disassembling its catalog of classic options with a modern flair. Plus, all of its products are fairly priced — from bookshelves to coffee tables.

We anticipate the Burrow Shift Sleeper Sofa to be the talk of the e-commerce community (we’re raising our hands as we type) and recommend this new launch for its quality, modern and match-all look and cushion-y soft design. It doesn’t get much better than that, folks.
