Travis Kelce fires back at Ja’Marr Chase over Patrick Mahomes shade

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce did his best Will Smith impression and told Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase to keep his quarterback’s name out of his mouth.

Chase had riled up the Chiefs and their fans when he responded, “Pat who?” when he was told Joe Burrow picked Patrick Mahomes as the best player in the NFL.

The original comment made some waves, and Kelce addressed it during his “New Heights” podcast

“It is what it is, dog,” Kelce said. “Who doesn’t love some good locker room banter, man? Shoutout to Ja’Marr Chase for holding it down for his QB, but don’t you ever disrespect Pat Mahomes now. If you want to talk your s–t, talk your s–t, pimp. Just better back it up.”

He also called Chase’s comments “a little bold” and added that the Chiefs’ signal-caller is “a two-time league MVP, two-time Super Bowl MVP. To say ‘Pat who’ is like… I don’t know.”

The back and forth could stir up the rivalry between the Bengals and Chiefs even further next season when the two teams meet.

Even Mahomes seemed to catch wind of the comment and referenced it in a tweet last week.

When the Chiefs received their Super Bowl rings, Mahomes tweeted a photo of his two Super Bowl rings and captioned it “That’s Who.”

The war of words between the NFL teams comes after things heated up following the Bengals’ signing of Orlando Brown Jr.

Kelce called the move “watching your best friend turn evil on you.”

Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd retorted that his team had one-upped the Chiefs with the signing.

Cincinnati and Kansas City won’t meet next season until Week 17 on New Year’s Eve at Arrowhead Stadium.

It will be the fifth meeting between the two teams over the last five years.
