Arsenal vs. Wolverhampton prediction: Premier League odds, best bets, picks for Saturday

For the first time all season it looks like Arsenal is wobbling.

The Gunners were on top of the Premier League going into last weekend but fell to Aston Villa, 2-0, in a game that was sandwiched by a draw and a defeat to Bayern Munich to eliminate Arsenal from the Champions League.

All of a sudden, what looked like it was going to be a special season for the Gunners is on the brink of the abyss.

Anything but a win over Wolverhampton would all but end Arsenal’s title hopes.

Arsenal vs. Wolverhampton prediction

As disappointing as its been for Arsenal lately, it is important to keep the big picture in focus.

The Gunners have been one of the best teams in all of Europe this season and are still very much alive in the hunt for the Premier League title, so a two-week blip shouldn’t change our entire outlook on them going forward.

That said, the concerns about Arsenal’s ability to generate scoring chances are not new.

We saw the Gunners struggle in this area of the game down the stretch last season, so it’s unsurprising that they’re not getting on the board enough during this vital bit of the schedule.

The good news for Saturday’s match is that this hasn’t really been an issue against inferior opponents.

It’s one thing to get blanked by Bayern Munich on the road or even Aston Villa, who is the fourth-place team in the Premier League for a reason, but it would be an entirely different fiasco to fail to get going against a Wolves team that has been leaking chances over the last two months.

Arsenal vs. Wolverhampton pick

Arsenal’s defensive acumen should still reign supreme in this matchup.

Also, its attack should have its way with a vulnerable Wolverhampton team that has one win in its last six matches, despite a favorable schedule.

Pick: Arsenal -1.5 (+105, DraftKings)
