UK’s ‘ugliest dog’ becomes Hollywood royalty — starring in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’

Suddenly, the MCU stands for the Misunderstood Canines Unit.

Because the upcoming Marvel movie “Deadpool & Wolverine,” starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, will also feature a pup who’s been dubbed “Britain’s ugliest dog.”

“Her real name is Peggy,” Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, told Empire of the unique pet cast as Dogpool.

“The reason why I was a huge proponent for her was because she feels like the animal manifestation of Wade Wilson.”

Foul-mouthed Wade became his masked alter-ego Deadpool in the 2016 film, after an injection gave him mutant superpowers, but also left his face and body disfigured.

“It’s love at first sight,” Reynolds, 47, said of his underdog character meeting the furry friend. “He loves Dogpool.”

At the time, the organizers prophetically said, “We never imagined we would discover a star, but that’s exactly what happened.”

Her doting owner, Holly Middleton, insisted that Peggy is “beautiful both inside and out.”
