The week in whoppers: Kathy Hochul reveals her racial bias, Rep. Jamaal Bowman gaslights on Jewish history and more

Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions

This claim:

“Congressman Jamaal Bowman Calls Out Republicans for Refusing to Fight All Forms of Hate”

— Press Release from Rep. Jamaal Bowman, Wednesday

We say: What BS! Bowman (D-NY) is an actual promoter of “hate” — particularly against the Jewish state.

He’s singled out Israel for supposed abuses, called it an “apartheid” state and claimed reports of “beheaded babies or raped women” were lies used as “propaganda.”

He was just outed for secretly subscribing to antisemitic (and other wacky) YouTube channels.

Yet now, facing a tough reelection challenge, he suddenly says: “Jewish history didn’t start with the Holocaust. It’s an entire history of persecution, and our kids need to learn about it.”

And blames Republicans for not condemning hate. So he’s a liar and a hypocrite.

This remark:

“We have . . . young black kids growing up in The Bronx who don’t even know what the word ‘computer’ is.”

— Gov. Kathy Hochul, Monday

We say: Hochul took back her idiotic slur, but it was nonetheless telling. As The Post’s Adam B. Coleman writes, this wasn’t a gaffe but “a window into the mindset of many mainstream elitist Democrats.

“Hochul inadvertently revealed how she’s a country-club Democrat who perceives anyone who isn’t a member of the upper class as being beyond ignorant and incapable.”

This story:

“With Schools in Ruins, Education in Gaza Will Be Hobbled for Years”

— The New York Times, Monday

We say: Relying on (anti-Israel) UN sources, The Gray Lady moans that most of Gaza’s schools are “unusable, which could harm an entire generation.”

What a bizarre take, especially since schools there have not only been used as military bases by Hamas (the Times itself quotes an Israeli sergeant who saw tunnels and weapons caches at Al-Azhar University) but also to teach kids to hate Jews and Israel and to cherish terror and martyrdom.

Rather than “hobble” education, the destruction of these “schools” could be a good first step toward saving the next generation of Gazans from a doomed culture of hate.

This headline:

“Pro-Palestinian protesters are backed by a surprising source: Biden’s biggest donors”

— Politico, Sunday

We say: Politico, unlike other publications, mostly got it right.

Some of the biggest backers of President Biden and a variety of progressive causes — George Soros and his Tides Foundation, David Rockefeller Jr., Susan and Nick Pritzker, etc. — are indeed funding the brain-dead anti-Israel, anti-American protests.

But “surprising”? Ha! As we recently noted, The Post has long been reporting on just that connection, even as hacks like The Washington Post’s Philip Bump denounce us for it. Politico should read The Post more.
