Why Jordi Fernandez’s old boss thinks he may be perfect for the Nets: ‘Guys are gonna love to play for him’

After an exhaustive league-wide, six-week search, Nets general manager Sean Marks unveiled the coach he’s entrusting to turn around his losing team. And the league GM who has known Jordi Fernandez far longer and far better insists the Spaniard is the perfect man for the job.

Cleveland Cavaliers GM Mike Gansey told The Post as much before Fernandez’s unveiling this week in Brooklyn.

“I’m super excited for Jordi. That guy’s like family, a brother to me; so you guys are getting a good one in Brooklyn,” Gansey said.

Fernandez just finished two years as the associate head coach in Sacramento, after six seasons as an assistant in Denver. But he’d first made his name in Cleveland, where he and Gansey first crossed paths back in 2009.
